WALLAROO HOUSE
Where lines between nature and architecture blurs. Interplay of shadow and light. Service in front. Serenity beyond.
A sophisticated architectural retreat where light transcends function to become the very fabric of space.
Artfully segmented by a sequence of skylights extending from the entrance, this residence abandons the conventional monolithic form, embracing instead a fluid spatial rhythm that guides you from the public to the private realms. The front of the house accommodates service areas — entrance, mudroom, and pantry — while living, garden, office, and gym spaces unfold progressively toward the canal, fostering a seamless dialogue between interior and exterior.
Crafted with a refined palette of natural materials — tactile timber flooring, raw concrete walls, and expansive glazing — the design celebrates material honesty and texture. Integral to this experience are the curated artworks adorning the walls, drawn from my solo exhibition “Lines, Graphics and the City,” which weave graphic abstraction into the architectural narrative, reinforcing the dialogue between light, form, and art.
The result is a home that balances openness with privacy, where daylight sculpts volume and creates an immersive environment of quiet sophistication.
